Where are you? I haven't heard from you in possibly months. I'm beginning to worry, and that's really saying something.

I tried seeing Harry the other day. I went to one of his Quidditch matches, (in my Animagus form, obviously) but I do not think it went very well. He fell off his broom, which wasn't very good. I don't think it had anything to do with me, but just in case I'm bad luck or something of the sort, I'm not going to attend anymore of his matches.

How are you, though? Are you feeling alright? Have you been drinking your potion? I am getting very concerned, old man. If you don't answer soon, I'm going to have to walk straight into Hogwarts and get you myself.

Fortunately for you, I'm going to dropping by. I'll give you whistle, eh?

It's always so good to hear from you. How is Harry doing? I haven't seen much of the lad, only the times when I've managed to sneak about.

As for Pettigrew, the reasons you stated for choosing him as Secret Keeper really is as it was. I think everyone saw me as the obvious choice, because I was headstrong and so close to James. Nobody saw that Pettigrew might betray James; he seemed the perfect choice to myself because of his shyness and his ability to fade into a crowd. No one would suspect he was holding that secret. I'm almost sure that Voldemort didn't come after him, but that he went to Voldemort of his own will.

I am also inclined to say that you shouldn't tell Harry about Pettigrew yet. If you're going to tell him about Pettigrew, he'd want to hear the whole story, and you'd have to tell him that you're a werewolf and that I'm an Animagus. I'm not sure that we can trust a 13 year old boy with information like that quite yet; you can't be too sure that he might not let it slip to one of his classmates. But you know him better than I do, obviously, so maybe my advice doesn't apply.

Food is extremely scarce where I am. Sometimes I can manage to dig something up from the rubbish bins as Padfoot, but it's usually nothing more than an apple core or a lettuce head. I was lucky once and found a rabbit's head. So if you can manage to do so, would you mind sending a loaf of bread, or even some cakey pie? Thanks.

Now that I have learned that Pettigrew is in fact alive, it has now brought up many questions in my mind. Lily and James must've changed their Secret Keeper...It was a smart move to switch from you, the obvious friend, but why would they put their trust in the timid Peter? Did Voldemort seek out Peter, or did Peter seek out Voldemort? Does he still have connections to the Dark Lord, or is he simply hiding out with the Weasleys? Is Harry in any present jeopardy? Are we? These questions plague me at night and drive away sleep...I apologize for seeming a bit too inquisitive, but you must understand, Sirius, that I'd thought otherwise for twelve years.

Should I take any action, knowing exactly where to find Pettigrew? Should we tell Harry? He has a right to know, Sirius. After all, you are his Godfather. Please give me your advice on any potential action on my part; I do not want to do anything detrimental to anything you have planned. I shall look forward to your reply, friend.

Dearest Sirius,

First of all, let me apologize. I apologize for believing that you would be capable of committing such devastating acts against James and Lily...It's been twelve years, and over time it's become easier and easier to accept what the Ministry has been telling us for all these years. I've thought about it so many times, Sirius, and I've never been able to make all of the pieces fit. I've known you since Hogwarts, and turning in Lily and James certainly did not fit your character. But when I read the news that you allegedly attacked and killed Pettigrew, I started to doubt the man I thought I knew. You have to understand, though, that the evidence was compelling. Besides, there was nothing I could do even if I did believe otherwise. They'd already carted you off to Azkban; you were unreachable to me. So, like many of our other friends, I moved on. The grief of James and Lily's passing struck me deeply, and the thought that you could be responsible cut even deeper; yet I still clung to the small hope that maybe the Ministry was wrong.

You may not know, but I have taken the empty position of Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts. During the school year, I have had the great pleasure of teaching Lily and James' son, Harry. He really is a remarkable boy, Sirius, and so much like his parents...Either way, just a few hours ago, Harry approached me with the reason I am writing you this letter. He had somehow gotten his hands on our Marauder's Map! Can you imagine that? Our very tool of adolescent mischief in the posession of one of the founder's son? Using my authority as a professor, I consficated the item. I gave Harry a stern warning about using objects like those, and before he left, he gave me the most astonishing news I've heard to date. Harry said that he thought the map might be broken, as he saw someone who he knows to be dead on it. I asked him who it was, and he said that he saw Peter Pettigrew. I knew right then and there that you were innocent, that the Ministry had the wrong man. Telling Harry that it wasn't possible, I waved off the remark in his presence. Once he had gone, however, I immediately began this letter.

Sirius, I want you to know that I know the truth. I do not know where you are, or what your plans are now that you have escaped Azkaban, but I would like you to know that you know have an old friend back on your side. Your recent "attacks" on the castle lead me to believe that you are somewhere nearby. If you see me on the grounds, you may approach me in your Animagus form. I desperately await your reply, as I've missed you so over these years...It will be nice to chat again, knowing that you are innocent of betraying Lily and James. I am sending my owl out with this letter to look for you in your Animagus form. Hope it reaches you...
